  Olive is an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle and is part of the ‘reptile’ family. She eats all kinds of sea life from lobsters and jellyfish to algae. Olive can dive up to 500 feet when she is foraging for food and can lay over 100 eggs in just one nest. Olive can live for up to 50 years. She is friendly and loves her ocean.

 Pom Pom the clownfish is bright orange in colour with black and white stripes. Pom Pom is imaginative and good at problem-solving. Although they look very beautiful, clownfish can be aggressive towards other clownfish so they are not as nice as they look. The most famous clownfish is Nemo.

Cuddles is very friendly when he meets humans but he likes to spend time on his own. He has a very special talent of changing colour so he can hide from other sea animals. He can almost magically disappear in front of your eyes!

  Nelly is the same as every shark, she is a big ‘fish’. Her body is made of cartilage and not of bone like other fish. She is friendly to humans unless she feels threatened, and she eats sea urchins, small lobsters and bony fish using her barbel' whiskers to sense prey.

  Dolphins are beautiful marine mammals and want you to know that when you see them in captivity jumping through hoops for humans, they aren’t happy. They do what the human tells them to otherwise they don’t always get dinner or treats. Dolphins are very quick learners and will adapt to any environment.

 Sea lions like Sebastian are fascinating marine mammals. They can walk on their front flippers and they have ear flaps. They are super agile in the water, often seen riding waves. They are also incredibly intelligent – Sebastian can be trained to recognise himself in mirrors and he can even learn tricks. The male can grow to around 8 feet in length making them very impressive. 

  A mollymawk is a beautiful bird that can have wings that span up to 256cm wide. They look a bit like a seagull but are much bigger. Their bills are usually bright yellow or orange and when they fly long distances, they can lock their wings in position and sleep in the air, meaning they can spend years without ever having reach dry land. 

  Umi is the biggest fish in the ocean and can grow to 18 metres in length. Although his mouth is over one metre wide, his teeth are tiny and he just eats tiny fish, shrimps and plankton by swimming with his mouth open near the surface. He is known as a ‘filter feeder’ and he is very gentle and often playful and curious with humans.

Lumi is a female predator and is much bigger than the male anglerfish. She has a bright light called an ‘esca’ on a fishing-rod-like attachment on her head which helps her to lure pray out of the dark so she can snatch them quickly with her razor-sharp teeth. She looks scary but is too small to hurt a human.
